NXP has designed a solution for biometric cards that paves the way for a seamless customer experience. As a fully integrated, one-module solution, NXP´s Smart eBio product enables easy integration in a card body by using standard manufacturing processes. These cards can be used at any Point of Sale within the existing infrastructure and are powered by the terminal just like a standard card. In terms of personal data security, NXP Smart eBio ensures the consumer’s fingerprint is stored and matched only within the Secure Element in the card. Banks, merchants and payment networks never have access to the biometric data as it never leaves the Secure Element which prevents misuse by third parties.
