True integrated eCockpits for cars, multi-camera monitoring in industrial systems and multi domain systems requiring
both open access and safety/security are transforming the way we interact. To operate these complex systems, we need
multiple high definition displays, running multiple operating systems, enabled with new seamless HMI, with safety
systems such as application sand-boxing. The NXP i.MX 8QuadMax offers the potential to deliver all these features in
one applications processor.
As the processor’s capabilities expand, so can the complexity of getting your product to market. To help with
this, NXP delivers the chip, AND puts an ecosystem of partners in place, to enable a wider range of customers to
develop a faster with the i.MX 8QuadMax processor.
Today, we are announcing a select group of early-access partners that NXP has been working with to develop an active
worldwide ecosystem for the i.MX 8QuadMax processor. Customers are encouraged to engage immediately to leverage the
expertise of all these partners; below is a summary of how they describe their development plans:
- BCM Advanced
Research is developing a system-ready single board computer and SMARC module aimed at the medical,
infotainment and retail markets.
- Artesyn will offer a flexible PCIe card and a suite of software development
tool for simple image processing solutions.
- Variscite is developing both a
system-on-module and single board computer solution designed to deliver the best cost/performance,
production-ready software and longevity.
- PHYTEC will utilize the i.MX 8
processor to enable rapid prototyping, agile development services and Industry 4.0 manufacturing.
- iWave Systems is developing a SOM for high performance
graphic-intensive applications such as computer vision, 4K signage, vehicle infotainment, video analytics and
gaming consoles.
- The Advantech Embedded Computing Group will
develop the ROM-7720 SOM module for imaging, machine vision, audio, voice, video and safety critical
applications.
- Toradex extends its pin-compatible Apalis Computer Module family with the
i.MX 8 family. It will fully benefit from Toradex ecosystem and free support.
- Congatec is designing a rugged
conga-QMX8 Qseven computer-on-module that will deliver an application ready computing core to connect the
industry 4.0.
These partners, along with NXP, will be at Embedded World in Nuremberg, Germany from March 13-16. NXP will be
showcasing the capability of the i.MX 8QuadMax applications processor, so please stop by our booth 4A-220 to see its
capabilities and visit our partners’ booths to learn some exciting ways they plan to enhance the i.MX
8QuadMax ecosystem.
