PCA9646是一款单片CMOS集成电路，适用于I²C总线、SMBus、PMBus及其他基于类似原理的系统应用中的2线总线缓冲和切换。

可按任何组合独立启用各四个输出，由可编程控制寄存器的内容决定。每个I/O的阻抗均与所有其他I/O隔离，因此允许总共五个带有最大指定负载的2线总线分支（例如，1 MHz时的Fm+ I²C总线为5 × 400 pF，或在更低频率时为5 × 4 nF）（参考1）。可串联使用多个PCA9646，提供强大的扇出能力。

类似PCA9525和PCA9605简易总线缓冲器，PCA9646附带用于时钟信号的单向缓冲器和用于数据信号的双向缓冲器。可通过可编程控制寄存器的内容设置时钟信号的方向。时钟展宽和定时必须始终由主器件控制。

PCA9646极其适合2线总线地址扩展和增加最大负载电容。超大型LED显示是完美的示例。
