Brushless DC motors can be found in almost all fields of application today, ranging from medical equipment, household appliances, building technology and industrial automation. Many advantages such as maximum efficiency, smaller motor dimensions, lower weight, longer service life, no maintenance and the avoidance of sparks make the BLDC motor interesting.
The increasing demands on functional safety for engine controls, especially in the 12V and 24V on-board network, as well as the electrification of vehicles, require new concepts.
In addition, the hardware-software interface comes into focus for these applications. NXP offers a holistic motor control toolchain for the S32K family.
As part of this seminar, the peripheral elements of the S32K that are relevant for motor controls are examined in more detail, as well as insights into the model-based design toolbox and the FreeMASTER run-time debugging based on a practical example.
